We go front page all the time on Digg. It's all in how you do it.

First of all, this is an Internet marketing blog. Why would you think a site (Digg) about news is interested in Internet marketing? In fact, the Digg mafia buries IM articles intentionally. Just Google "digg mafia" for more.

Second of all, do not submit your own blog no matter what your write about. Digg users will hate on you for self promotion. This is not a search engine where you submit your site for review.

Social bookmarking is about being social, not promoting yourself.

Secondly, constantly submitting your own content to social bookmarking is a great way to destroy your search engine rankings. I predict the social bookmarking Google slapdown is coming this fall and it will be about social bookmarking spam.

Bottom line, submitting articles to ANY social site for your own gain is bookmarking spam. And if any real bookmarking user even suspects this, they click the bury button on you fast.

If you want to know more, look over my site, most of these issues are highly covered in the public artilce. - Chris Lang
